MEPs agree to slash cost of mobile phone ‘roaming’ throughout the EU25 Mar

MEPs today approved a deal to slash the cost of mobile calls, texts and internet surfing when travelling in the EU by even more than that proposed by the European commission. The deal on "roaming" takes effect from 1 July 2010 – two months earlier than proposed by Viviane Reding, EU media and telecoms commissioner – and lasts for three years.
